2 Years In

Two years. We are two years into this business. This reality feels simultaneously fresh and ubiquitous. It is still new, yet it feels like we’ve always done this.

In those two years, there’s been countless late-nights, business meetings, creative slumps, sleep-deprived mornings, creative highs, last-minute detours, successes and learning moments.

If you’ve ever built a business from scratch, you can probably relate.

In building this business, I have learned so much.

I have learned how to portion, how to plan, how to market, how to present, when to prep, when to arrive, how to write invoices, etc.

Those standards - the facts and formulas for running the business - I have learned those. I have mastered those.

But I have learned much more valuable, life-giving, lessons.

This business has been a vehicle for God to grow me and use me.

My creativity has blossomed.

My ability to think on my feet has been challenged and strengthened.

My willingness to deny myself and serve others unconditionally has grown.

My public speaking is being practiced (did you know this is the #1 fear of many?).

My personal weaknesses have been magnified and given a space to develop.

I’ve learned how to partner with someone else and give them space to create.

I’ve learned how to shred my anxiety and stress and better trust God’s guidance.

I’ve learned how to relax, enjoy myself, and go with the flow in the midst of stress.

I’ve strengthened my resolve and vision for my life.

I’ve become a better wife, mother, and friend.

Business goals and achievements aside, I am so thankful for the personal growth I have been able experience as a result of this business.

I am grateful God allows me to work in this capacity and I hope to glorify him in every step of it.

Sam
